Finished Painting
Here's the finished painting, with the third layer of splatter paint applied. It's brighter than I was expecting it to be. You never know until you try it. This is definitely the painting for brightening up a room! 36" x 36", repurposed acrylic latex paint on canvas.

Work in Progress - Second Layer
Here's the painting-in-progress with the second layer of paint applied and dried, and the Contact paper dots removed. I'm going to do some splatter paint in greens on top of this.
I think I got all of the Contact paper off! It's really difficult to see the dots once they've been painted over. Did I miss any?

Thank You and Work in Progress
Thank you to everyone who came out for Downtown Art Walk last night! I appreciate your support and encouragement. I hadn't been to Downtown Art Walk before, and I was amazed at the number of people there. The streets were packed, and it was great to see so many people who are interested in art! The show at Gloria Delson Contemporary Arts continues through the end of February, if you'd like to see my Valentine series paintings.
Here's a new painting I'm working on, photographed in my studio. The white dots are Contact paper, being used for masking. Next I'm going to apply a layer of deep reds, purples, rust and burgundy. I'll let it dry, and pull off the Contact paper to reveal pink and peach dots. After that I'm thinking of a splattered layer of greens. Stay tuned!

The Valentines Series
Here's my grid of 10" x 10" Valentine's paintings hanging at Gloria Delson Contemporary Arts in downtown Los Angeles. The show is titled "True Grid," and it's up through the end of February. They hung sixteen of the paintings, and they have eight more that they will show you if you ask to see them.
I will be at Downtown Art Walk next Thursday night, February 9th. I'll be checking out the galleries myself, and I'll spend some time at Gloria Delson.
